The Witcher 2 Digital Premium Edition UK price dropped

Good Old Games has announced an UK price drop for the Digital Premium Edition of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

The Witcher 2's UK price is now £29.99, although preorders through GOG are £26.99.

The new price applies to existing pre-orders as well as new ones.

According to a statement from PR and marketing manager Lukasz Kukawski, the drop is a response to currency discrepancies.

"We do our best to provide our users with the lowest possible prices here at GOG," he wrote, "And we're happy to announce that we're able to make another great deal here.

"With The Witcher 2 Digital Premium Edition we introduced the 'Fair Price Package' to compensate for the price difference for customers who pay in Euros and British pounds sterling vs. those who pay in USD."

Although the European price remains the same, those who pay in Euros will apparently receive store credit to compensate for the discrepancy in pricing with the US.

The Witcher 2 releases on PC on May 17.
