NBA Jam on disc coming "in time for the holidays"

nbajam

EA Sports has said NBA Jam for PS3 and Xbox 360, which was intended to be a free digital download with NBA Elite 11, will be released on disc at retail "in time for the holidays."

Speaking with Kotaku, and EA spokesperson told the site: "The development team is working hard on NBA Jam on Xbox 360 and PS3 to get it finished in time for the holidays. We are not prepared to make any announcements at this time but we should have some exciting news to share very soon."

GameFly showed the retail box yesterday through a listing on the rental service.

Here's more on this via Peter Moore's blog in case you missed it last month:

Unfortunately, NBA Elite 11 is not yet ready and we have made a decision to delay next month’s launch. We are going to keep working until we’re certain we can deliver a breakthrough basketball experience.

We’re going to ship NBA JAM as a standalone product on the Xbox360 and PS3 in time for the holidays. Watch for more news soon on the exact timing of that release.

So there ya go. Confirmation from EA Sports just in case you thought Moore was blowing smoke or something.  Not like he would or anything. Just sayin'.

We'll get you a date and price on this as soon as one is confirmed.
