The first unedited gameplay footage from Code Vein focuses on one-on-one combat

Bandai Namco's Code Vein wears its Dark Souls inspiration proudly in this gameplay clip, which focuses on fighting without any of the usual trailer flair.

This follows on from the E3 trailer, which didn't show us a full fight from start to finish.

The footage shows Code Vein's hero facing off against three different enemies, although they all seem to follow similar attack patterns.

Admittedly, it's not the most exciting footage - the enemy's attacks are a little repetitive and they're not particularly aggressive - but it's still early days for Code Vein, which will not launch until some time during 2018.

In the run up to E3 Bandai Namco also released a whole bunch of screenshots of Code Vein, and back in April we learned that the characters in the game are vampires, who need to feast on blood.

Hopefully we'll find out more about Code Vein - and what it's doing to separate itself from Dark Souls - soon.
