Crusader Kings 2 is now free on Steam

Now is the time to try your hand at strategic monarchy simulator Crusader Kings 2.

In celebration of Paradox Interactive's PDXCon 2019, Crusader Kings 2 is currently free on Steam.

Launched in 2012, Crusader Kings 2 takes place in Medieval Europe from the 11th to 15th century - an era of frustrated kings, fragmented kingdoms, and, er, marrying your cousin. It isn't clear how long the Crusader Kings sequel will be free, although it's a pretty safe bet the sale will run at least until the end of the Paradox con. This year's PDXCon starts today in Berlin and runs until October 20.

The free game is part of a bigger Steam sale being held this week, with major discounts hitting other Paradox titles including Age of Wonders: Planetfall and Imperator: Rome - those have discounts of 10 percent and 33 percent, respectively. Prison Architect, Stellaris and Europa Universalis 4 are all 70 percent off. Have a look at the full sale here.
