Check Out Princess Peach's Adorable Outfits from Super Mario Odyssey
So much praise for Mario's outfits, but none for Peach's stylish ensembles?

Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch is all about fancy hats and funny suits. Sure, rescuing Princess Peach from Bowser's scaly clutches is priority one, but the abundance of Crazy Cap clothing stores in the game serves as a silent message to the player: "If you're going to travel around the world, you'd damn well better do it in style.
Heck, Bowser's stylin' white tux and Princess Peach's wedding dress are front and center in the game. It makes for a nice change from the usual melding of pink and green, neither of which are colors I've ever been too fond of (and seeing them smooshed together just reminds me of something a dog would bring up after eating a bunch of grass).
If Super Mario Odyssey's post-game content is any indication, Peach is a little tired of her usual pink rag, too. When she goes on her vacation around the world with Tiara, she not only samples the local culture of every Kingdom, but she also dresses up in thematically appropriate outfits.
Not every single visit to a Kingdom yields a totally new outfit for Peach, but I guess there's only so much you can stuff into a suitcase.
Peach dons a double-breasted pea coat for her trip to the Cap Kingdom and tops it off with a black beret. Even though this outfit favors dark colors, it's anything but gloomy. Like the London-inspired Cap Kingdom itself, Peach's ensemble is sharp but sweet.
When you find Peach in the Cascade Kingdom, she's wearing an outfit that's not unlike the Mario's Picross-inspired explorer getup. Mario's outfit doesn't have cute knee-high socks, though. That might have something to do with Mario's knees being somewhere down around his ankles.
Peach wears a bikini when you meet her at watery kingdoms. She even boasts a couple of touristy accessories, like a pair of sunglasses and a lei. I dig the Power Moon motif on her towel.
The outfit Peach wears to the Luncheon Kingdom is kind of a double-reference. First, the overalls might be a call-out to the favorite outfit of her hero, Mario. Second, the entirety of the Luncheon Kingdom is littered with beans and root vegetables (food all over the floor—I guess this Kingdom tells time in five-second intervals in accordance with the five-second rule), so it's appropriate for Peach to be dressed up as a farmer. I just hope she's not called out by the Spirit of the Harvest Moon for being a fake farmer.
Of all the outfits on this list, Peach's festival yukata is the one that makes me say "Nintendo, please wave your magic wand and make this a real thing." Peach wears this lightweight Fire Flower kimono and matching Boo mask when she enters Bowser's Kingdom, quote, "with her own two feet" for once. Bowser's Kingdom is styled after feudal Japan, and it's a striking locale. No wonder Peach felt like dressing up, even though she's lounging in the front yard of her worst enemy.
By the way, the guy in the background is a Crazy Cap employee who complains about the lack of customers in Bowser's Kingdom. If you have time to lean you have time to clean, boyo.
When her tour of the world is done, Peach finally returns home to the Mushroom Kingdom and changes back to her classic dress. She's still got her suitcase beside her, though. If wanderlust strikes again, she won't hesitate to run off in the dark of the new moon. Enjoy yourself in everything you do, Peach.
This picture has nothing to do with Princess Peach. It's simply the scowl of a man who clearly wanted to spend the family vacation at the Cascade Kingdom, but was outvoted. I thought it ought to be preserved.
