Call of Duty: Modern Warfare shows early look at the Gunsmith

The gun bench is one of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's biggest features, and today we got a glimpse at the level of weapon customisation it offers.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward has dropped new teaser for the game's Gunsmith, an elaborate weapon customisation system that looks incredibly detailed.

In an accompanying blog post, the developer explained some of what players can do do at the Gunsmith. You'll be able to customise the various sections that make up your primary, as well as secondary weapons.

This includes muzzle attachments like suppressors, optics of various magnifications, stock, grip, and under-barrel. That's five available parts per weapon, or nine with most assault rifles.

The video, which you can watch below, also seems to reveal that - with enough tinkering - you'll be able to turn an assault rifle into an SMG, or a CQC variant at the very least.

Gunsmith, along with Modern Warfare multiplayer's "universe" will be officially unveiled on August 1.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out October 25 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
