Cancelled Overwatch League China matches moved to South Korea

Overwatch League matches initially intended for Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou have been moved to South Korea.

In late January, Blizzard cancelled five Overwatch League homestand matches in China over concerns about the coronavirus outbreak. The matches were set to take place this month and in March.

Now, Blizzard has revealed that it's moving those matches to South Korea. The makeup matches will be played in weeks six and seven at at studio in Seoul, tough some might be added to the week five schedule.

"The makeup matches will not affect the other scheduled homestands in Washington (Week 5), Florida (Week 6), and Atlanta (Week 7)," Blizzard said.

Specific dates and times will be revealed soon. Like all Overwatch League games, the makeup matches will be livestreamed on YouTube, thanks to the recent exclusivity rights deal Activision made with Google.

The news isn't particularly surprising, as a number of the teams in those affected cities have already moved their training facilities to Seoul.
