Command & Conquer, Command & Conquer: Red Alert remasters from EA and Petroglyph coming

Command & Conquer and Command & Conquer: Red Alert are being remastered, EA has announced.

EA announced today it is working with Petroglyph Games to remaster Command & Conquer and Command & Conquer: Red Alert. The company has also enlisted the help of Lemon Sky Studios to bring the titles into the 4k era.

Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn and Command & Conquer: Red Alert and all three expansion packs. Each of the expansions will be bundled with the base games into one remastered collection - without microtransactions.

EA producer Jim Vessella said on the official C&C reddit page from the development teams wants the community to get in on "the ground floor of this project," and will have "every opportunity to help influence" how the remastered game is built.

Last month the firm said it was “exploring” some ideas about remastering classic Command & Conquer games. Vessella said at the time the team would be "talking to fans in a variety of ways” over the next few weeks. And here we are today.

The series is coming up on its 25th anniversary in 2020, as Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn released in 1995 and Command & Conquer: Red Alert in 1996.
