Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Who is the real Diona?

There are many side quests available in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and we’re going to be looking one that falls into the Cultists related quests in the game.

By the Fates is the final stage in a quest titled I, Diona. You’re forced to choose between two identical twins who the real Diona is. Choose wrongly, and an innocent person may die, as well as have Kythera fall with her. The real Diona is a worshipper of the Bloodline cultist.

The quest is found in the south of Kythera Island in the Skendeia Bay region. Diona, a priestess of Aphrodite, is being attacked by some thugs and you can jump in to defend her. Once saved, you’ll be able to play through new activities to reveal the Undiscovered Sage from the Worshippers of the Bloodline branch and will earn a piece of Immortal Legendary armour.

These new quests you’ll encounter are:

  • All Bonds Will Break
  • Pick Your Poison
  • The Handmaiden’s Story
  • In a Rush

As you progress through these quests you’ll get clues on who is the real Diona. At the end of the final quest, By the Fates, you’ll end up meeting both twins at the altar. This is where the final clue is revealed. There’s a moment at the very start of the cutscene where you’ll see that Diona is choking her sister, though it is easy to miss.

You’ll then get to choose which one of the sisters you should attack. There’s a timer pressuring you to make your choice, and you’ll have to do it fast. Diona, who is a part of the cult, is the one on the right. The correct choice is the first one: “On the right – you’re Diona!”

If you choose the correct answer, you’ll only have to fight Diona. If you choose wrong, the real cultist will attack you. They can be defeated easily, but you’ll feel the ramifications of killing the innocent sister.
