WoW: Burning Crusade allowed to launch in China

wowchina

The Chinese GAPP (General Adminstration of Press and Publication) has decided to allow World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade to be published in the country.

Last week, new sign-ups were suspended for WoW in China, as operator MetEase applied for a license to run the expansion.

NetEase has also since submitted Wrath of the Lich King to GAPP for approval to launch in the country, but no licence has been granted as yet.

NetEase got in hot water with Chinese authorities in January after it was reported the operator was illegally running the MMO in China.

No word yet on when sign-ups can start again, but Blizzard boss Mike Morhaime said in tha latest Acti Blizz earnings call that they'd be offline for a week.

Thanks, VB.
