‘Fire Red’ 3DS hitting Japan next month
Nintendo’s announced plans in Japan to release a ‘Fire Red’ 3DS from next month. It’ll go on sale on July 14 for ¥25,000 (£189/$311). Its only been available in either blue or black so far. A new Wii bundle which will come with Wii Sports Resort and an extra Wiimote Plus launches on June 23 for ¥20,000 (£151/$249).

New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus have all moved 10 million units in Lifetime-to-Date numbers released this morning by Nintendo for the period between April 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009.

UK charts: MW2 destroys everyone to become No. 1
The latest UK charts has just been released, with Modern Warfare 2 completely smashing everyone to become No. 1, raking in 1.7 million units and grossing £67 million.
Ain’t that a surprise.
Wii Sports Resort went up one, from three to two, and FIFA 10 drops down one to three.
Other then Modern Warfare 2, it’s all just movers and shakers. No new entries.

UK charts: Wii Fit Plus takes over at No. 1
Wii Fit Plus has gone to No. 1 in the latest UK charts, having entered it last week at two.
Last week’s No. 1, Football Manager 2010, slipped to four in the charts. The top three is rounded off by FIFA 10 and Wii Sports Resort.
Dragon Age: Origins debuted at five.

Dragon Quest IX bestselling global game in Q3, top five listed
Dragon Quest IX was the bestselling videogame across Japan, the US and UK in the third quarter, according to joint data from NPD, GfK Chart-Track and Enterbrain.
And yes: it was only released in Japan. Here’s the top five:
- Dragon Quest IX (Square Enix) – 3,925,000
- Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo) – 3,014,000
- Madden NFL 10 (EA) – 2,612,000
- Pokémon HeartGold And SoulSilver (Nintendo) – 2,068,000
- Halo 3: ODST – 1,847,000
The stats-tracker added that combined software sales in the three regions dropped 6 percent in the quarter.
Japan was up 15 percent, compared to a 20 percent drop in the same in 2008. That said, year-to-date sales in Japan are down 9 percent.

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box moves 1.26 million units outside of Japan

Hidden within a supplement to its quarterly earnings report, Nintendo has revealed that Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box has sold 1.26 million units since its launch outside of Japan.
Also listed as a first party million-seller was the Tomodachi Collection and Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver – each for DS – and Wii Sports Resort has reached 6.97 million units worldwide, and Wii Fit Plus 2.13 million.

Black Wii Sports Resort up for preorder on Amazon UK

Amazon UK has the black Wii bundle up for preorder on its site and it’s currently discounted as well.
The bundle includes Wii Sports Resort, Wiimote, Nunchuk , MotionPlus, and Wii Sports for £164.99, which is £15 off the normal price.
It ships November 6 in the UK and other European territories November 20.

Black Wii bundle hitting Europe on November 20

Nintendo just said its black Wii bundle, which includes Wii Sports Resort and Wii MotionPlus, will release in Europe on November 20.
British and Irish punters will get it on November 6.
Americans get the new black kit on November 16, as previously announced.

September NPD – ODST wins on software front

Halo 3: ODST has outright won the software front in the September NPDs, selling over 1.5 million units in the month.
Wii Sports Resort (442k) and Madden NFL 10 for the Xbox 360 (289k) rounded off the top three in the software charts.
Beatles: Rock Band for the 360 beat Guitar Hero 5 for the 360, with 254k in fourth compared to GH5′s 210k in ninth.
The Wii version of Beatles rounds off the top 10 with 208k units sold.

Wii Sports Resort moves through 1.25 million units in North America

Nintendo has announced that Wii Sports Resort has sold over 1.25 million units in North America.
The Wii MotionPlus has sold 2.9 million units, including ones sold with Sports Resort, and 1.36 million standalone sales.
WMP bundled with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 moved through 257,000 units.
That’s a lot of WMP peripherals in the hands of the continent.
Nintendo announced a second MotionPlus bundle for the US this morning, with Wii Sports Resort for October.

Rumor: UK Wii bundle includes WMP, Sports Resort, Wii Sports

An unnamed retail source has revealed to MCV that the UK’s current Wii SKU is to be replaced with new bundle that included Will Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and Wii MotionPlus.
However, it is not believed that the new bundle will be less expensive than the current offering.
If the report is accurate, this will be the first time MotionPlus or Wii Sports Resort has been officially bundled with the Wii console.

Wii Sports Resort passes 1 million in Europe
Nintendo just confirmed that Wii Sports Resort has now sold more than 1 million units in Europe.
It was confirmed overnight that the game had hit the same tide-mark in Japan.
The company issued the following image to prove its European point this morning. Look at the blue line rather unfortunately tagged “Wii Sports Resort Cum”.

Wii Sports Resort hits 1 million in Japan
Nintendo’s confirmed that Wii Sports Resort has passed the million mark in Japan.
The game, which is packaged with Wii MotionPlus, was released on June 25 in the country.
