Price cuts announced for Wii Party and Wii Sports Resort

Nintendo has reportedly sanctioned a $10 price drop on best-sellers Wii Sports Resort and Wii Party, adding weight to talk of an impending successro to the little console that could.

The new pricing should go into effect across the US on April 25, with Nintendo dropping the games' suggested retail price to $39.99 from that date onwards.

The announcement comes on the back of a rumoured price cut for the console, with purported retailer memos mentioning "clearance stock".

If that weren't suggestive enough, the Internet exploded last week with a sudden flurry of Wii successor rumours.

As of January, Wii Sports Resort had sold 26.35 million units worldwide, making it one of the highest-selling games of all time - compare Halo 3's 8 million, for example. Wii Party has racked up at least 3 million sales.
