World of Tanks hits 1 million registrations

After announcing in November last year that more than 500,000 “active players” since releasing in Russia last summer, Wargaming.net said today the free-to-play MMO has now hit 1 million registrations.

360 to hit 1 million in Oz this year, says MS
Microsoft Australia head Jeremy Hinton said in Sydney this week that Xbox 360 is expected to pass the 1 million mark in the country in 2009.
“We [Microsoft] expect to hit a million Xbox 360 consoles sold across Australia and New Zealand by the end of this year,” he told Gamespot.
“We’re confident we can reach this goal with the console’s current price point and the new experiences we’re bringing through Xbox Live such as Movies on Demand, Facebook and Twitter.”
There’s still a good way to go, however.
“We’ve just hit 700, 000 consoles sold in Australia, and we’re now finding that it’s the fastest growing console down under,” Hinton added.

Standalone Wii MotionPlus sales near 1 million in Europe
Standalone sales of Wii MotionPlus are already close to 1 million in Europe, Nintendo said today.
The peripheral has been bundled with the likes of million-selling Wii Sports Report, but “separate sales” of the add-on “have exceeded 936k sales across Europe since its launch,” according to a press release issued this morning.
MotionPlus launched on June 12 in Europe.

Wii Sports Resort passes 1 million in Europe
Nintendo just confirmed that Wii Sports Resort has now sold more than 1 million units in Europe.
It was confirmed overnight that the game had hit the same tide-mark in Japan.
The company issued the following image to prove its European point this morning. Look at the blue line rather unfortunately tagged “Wii Sports Resort Cum”.

Nintendo’s confirmed that Wii Sports Resort has passed the million mark in Japan.
The game, which is packaged with Wii MotionPlus, was released on June 25 in the country.

Monster Hunter Tri ships 1 million units
Capcom’s confirmed that Monster Hunter Tri, the latest in the unstoppable co-op RPG series, has now shipped more than 1 million units for Wii.
The IP in total has now shipped more than 10 million units.
Expect to see a Monster Hunter-Dragon Quest face-off in the Japanese charts in the next few weeks. Looks as though the former’s going straight in at the top.

Red Faction: Guerrilla passes 1 million units sold
THQ boss Brian Farrell just confirmed that Red Faction: Guerrilla has now sold more than 1 million units.
The news came as part of the firm’s Q1 earnings conference call.
Farrell held the game up as an example of the company’s commitment to quality: the firm’s games are achieving an MC average rating of 84 percent this year, compared to a 80 percent last year.

Microsoft said this morning it’s to hand out 1 million Microsoft Points in celebration of Xbox 360 reaching 1 million units in the territory.

7 DS games have passed 10 million mark, says Nintendo

Seven DS games have sold more than 10 million units, Nintendo said yesterday, with 83 titles now having sold more than 1 million copies.
The seven to break the 10 million mark are Nintendogs, New Super Mario Bros. Brain Age, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Mario Kart DS, Brain Age 2, and Animal Crossing: Wild World.
Nintendo confirmed last night that DS has now shipped more than 100 million hardware units worldwide.

DSi sells over 1 million in Japan
Who needs a tiny camera in their DS? A million Japanese people, apparently.
IGN’s reporting that DSi has now sold more than 1 million units in Japan, based on Enterbrain figures.
The handheld revision beat the milestone yesterday, December 21.
It launched in Japan on November 1, and will release in both the US and Europe next year.

Far Cry 2 sells over 1 million units
Ubi Montreal shooter Far Cry 2 has cleared more than 1 million units since it released at the end of October.
“[The game] is well on track to achieve our expectations for the year,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.
“The holiday quarter is off to a solid start with the successful launch.”
The game topped the US PC charts in its launch week and was only beaten off the UK all-formats by Fable II.

PS3 sells 1 million in France
According to this Gamekyo report, GFK’s confirmed that PS3′s hit 1 million sales in France.
There’s little detail there, but apparently “5 million of games and peripherals” have also been sold since the machine launched in the France in 2007.

Metal Gear Online has 1 million “members”, says Konami
Konami’s announced that Metal Gear Online has more than 1 million “members” worldwide.
To commemorate the milestone, the company is to launch the imaginatively titled, Metal Gear Online: Commemorative Campaign.
Beginning on November 25, those who access the game will receive award points, which can be used to buy new online gear from the “in-game reward shop.”

Spore breaks 1 million sales
EA’s announced that Spore’s gone through the 1 million sales mark.
“Spore is a hit,” said EA Games president Frank Gibeau.
“Will Wright’s latest delivers an incredibly diverse game that appeals to casual gamers and the core alike.
“We’re off to a great start moving into the holiday season and believe Spore will deliver a platform of creativity for gamers of all stripes for years to come.”
The millions total sales from the PC, Mac and DS versions.
Spore launched at the beginning of September.
