The game was released one year ago today and the two million figure spans Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs and still remains on of the fastest-selling titles in Paradox's history.

After of March the modding community has also created over 76,000 pieces of content on Steam Workshop.

To celebrate, a free content update will be released later this month on March 22, adding new features to the game.

The free landscaping-themed content update adds new features and options such as the ability to perform mild terraforming on existing cities’ formations, and reform former landforms into malformed formats.

Canals and quays will also be available for construction.
