Resident Evil HD remake release date set for January

Capcom has announced the release date for its HD remake of Resident Evil.

The game will display in 1080p on current-gen and 720p on last-gen and frame rate options are included in the PC version.

It contains fully remastered sound effects with 5.1 surround support; all difficulty levels are present as well as the new "Very Easy Mode"; and you can switch between 4:3 ratio or 16:9 widescreen mode at any time.

You can also play it with classic controls, or use the revamped control scheme in which the character moves in the direction of the analogue stick.

Originally released in 1996 on PSone, the revamped HD version of the Game Cube remake will run you $19.99/€19.99/£15.99.

It will be digitally released on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One from January 20 in Europe and North America.

Some screens and a gameplay video are posted below.
