Minecraft PS4 arrives this week – sort of

Minecraft has a PS4 release date at last, although the physical and US launches are still to be announced.

Minecraft PS4 will release through the European PlayStation Store tomorrow (Wednesday, in Europe and the US), PlayStation France has confirmed on Twitter.

The platform holder shared the news after a broken listing for Mojang’s sandbox popped up on the mobile version of the PS Store.

A rough translation of this exchange:

@BarraultBastien: Does Minecraft come out tomorrow on PS4? Or still no date?
PlayStation France: Yes, the digital version arrives tomorrow. No date for the physical version.

Given that the North American PlayStation Store updated today, and Sony isn’t super keen on new releases popping up in the interval, it’s likely it may not surface State-side till next week.

Earlier this week we gathered together a number of updates on various ports of Minecraft. The Xbox One version is in certification, but the Vita version hasn’t gone for final testing yet. The Mac, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions remain delightful.

Thanks, IGN.
