Monday, 25th November 2013 08:24 GMT By Dave Cook

Crash Bandicoot was rumoured to have been sold back to Sony, following the apparent closure of the series’ official homepage, and all traces of the franchise erased from Activision’s publisher site. The company has now confirmed that this is not the case.

We reported on the vanishing of Crash Bandicoot mentions last week. Hit the link to find out what happened.

In a statement to GameInformer,, an Activision rep wrote, “Activision owns Crash Bandicoot and we continue to explore ways in which we could bring the beloved series back to life.”

It does make you wonder why all evidence of Crash’s existence was erased from Activision sites. What do you think? Could some news be on the way regarding his future? Let us know below.

    I find it dumb that people are begging for a new game with this IP when naughty dog are creating games such as TLOU and Uncharted series that’s given them GOTY and all sorts.

    Yeah they are thinking how to incorporate Season Pass and DLCs with microtransactions.

    @3 lol!

    @2 – Maybe because it’s a completely different genre to Uncharted/TLOU and people want some platforming decent on PS?

    Please sell to Sony, at least they’ll do something worthwhile with it. I would absolutely love a naughty dog crash game, lost its way since they sold it

    For 4.99 you can buy 100 Wumpa Fruit s and upgrade your jump. Also next month you will be able to purchase brand new DLC that will change color on crates and add new effect for destroyed creates. That is future of Crash in Activision hands.

    FU activision for ruining my childhood’s favourite game, Sony or Naughtydog should buy it from these guys, Nintendo even.

    It doesn’t have to be a ND game. Just a good game. Any one of Sony’s teams would do a better job than what Activision would do with it.

    Bring it back to life by selling it to Naughty Dog.

    @ And Naughty Dog isn’t big enough that they could dedicate a small team to create a new entry in the series, even if it’s just a smaller digital dowload title?

    This is the franchise that got me into video games. The first three are still ridiculously fun to me. I’d love to see a new game in the series, despite seeing the game’s history after leaving Sony exclusivity. I think Twinsanity was the last game I liked in the series, regardless of how frustratingly difficult it was even by the series’ standards.

    Man forget about Activision. Just give the IP back to Naughty Dog so a “real” revival can happen. It’s rediculous to put so much faith in the same people that gave us Crash of the Titans and Crash: Mind Over Mutant. Do we have to spell it Naughty Dog? B-U-Y B-A-C-K C-R-A-S-H.
