Destiny trailer celebrates upcoming PlayStation exclusive beta

Friday, 15th November 2013 05:51 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Destiny’s beta will go live first on PlayStation 3 and PS4, Bungie confirmed today, releasing a new trailer to congratulate Sony on the launch of its new console in North America.

The beta will be available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One as well, but will come to PS3 and PS4 first. No further details on how long this exclusivity will last were provided. This is presumably at least part of the PlayStation exclusive Destiny content promised as early as the PS4′s reveal.

You can up your chances a slot in the Destiny beta by pre-ordering, apparently.

The trailer below was aired during Spike TV’s PS4 All Access event tonight.

Destiny is a shared world shooter, and the first new property from Bungie since it invented Halo. We’re expecting it in 2014.

Misleading… the Beta is NOT exclusive. It is only available first on PS3/PS4.

    BUT DOES IT HAVE SPLITSCREEN!

That is all I want to know. Is it so hard to confirm or deny?

Some fans on Bungie.net were raging and harping on about brand loyality. Quite funny.

@6 Some would argue that the marketing made by Activision/Bungie towards Destiny make it feel like Destiny is some sort of PS exclusive for someone who didn’t search anything about the game yet (while it’s a multiplatform game).

I mean it’s understandable for Halo fans, who suported Bungie for 10 years now and tend to buy an XBO, to be a bit misleaded and disapointed by this whole PR marketing.

I’m aware it’s all business moves made on Activision/sony side but still their messaging didn’t really appear balanced when it comes to the two platforms that are PS4 and XBO.

I guess Bungie just won’t make a small video wishing a good launch to Microsoft on the 22nd, amirite ?

@7wasn’t Microsoft doing this for every major multiplatform title?
i guess you people wouldn’t complain then since it was “serving your cause”

@9 Serving what cause ? I’m talking about a specific case that doesn’t exist in any other occurence as far as I know : Bungie a developer which used to make an exclusive and successful game for Xbox and which is now developing a multiplatform game being currently heavily advertised on PS side making the Halo fans loyal to the Xbox brand feel unconfortable after all the support they gave to Bungie.

Don’t try to spin it into a fanboy war with hugely uninformed generalisations, it’ doesn’t really help the debate.

But yes I guess it’s now between Bungie and their fans, Bungie will have to deal with this matter and we’ll see what they’ll do about it in the future.

Square Enix a developer/publisher which used to make exclusive numbered FF’s for Playstation since the brand’s first console and for 2 generations…5 main FF games
2 generations later their main games are being developed multiplatform . FFXIII was heavily advertised on Xbox’s side making FF’s fans loyal to the PS brand feel unconfortable…see what i did there?
and this is just one case

many multiplatform games were heavily advertised under the Xbox brand alone which was misleading.

The point is.Bungie has gone multiplatform as well as many others which were previously exclusive to the Ps.Some times they will favour one console and userbase, some times the other while other times things will be equal…get used to it
