Dark Souls 2: Into the Light comic coming in January

A tie-in graphic novel for Dark Souls 2 will release ahead of the From Software RPG's launch early next year.

Called Dark Souls 2: Into the Light, the comic is set in the Dark Souls universe and was written by Rob Williams and Andi Ewington. Williams has penned Ghost Rider, Daken, Amazing Spider-Man, The Dark X-Men, Cla$$war, Star Wars Tales and Judge Dredd: Trifecta. Ewington is a fresh face best known for his debut novel 45.

The art comes courtesy of Simon Coleby, whose credits include Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, The Authority and Judge Dredd: Trifecta.

"Gothic environments, unworldly monsters, eldritch atmosphere, adventure and terror are the best arguments that an artist could wish for," the creative team said of the collaboration with Namco Bandai and From Software.

"Before you venture into the darkness, pay heed to those who know what awaits within."

Into the Light will go on sale in January. Namco Bandai sent some assets but they're taking forever to process; I'll have them up ASAP. Dark Souls 2 itself is due in March, on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
