Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition back on App Store

Friday, 16th August 2013 01:25 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is once more for sale on the App Store, and developer Beamdog is back in action.

The remade RPG, which was pulled from the App Store in June, is available once more for $10.

Although we don’t have an official statement on the status of Atari and Beamdog’s dispute, it sounds like news is not far off.

“We’re back,” Beamdog producer and writer Phillip Daigle announced on Twitter.

“News regarding the BGEE patch and BG2EE will come in awhile as we bring some heavy machinery out of storage.”

As well as the patch and sequel, we’re also expecting an Android tablet release.

During the App Store lockdown, the game remained on sale through Steam and Atari’s own channels. It’s believed the lockout was related to Atari’s gentle dismantling, as the company has gone bankrupt – again – and is selling off its properties. This is good news for some; hopefully Beamdog’s interests have been served throughout the process. We’ve requested an update from the developer.

Thanks, Polygon.

Great news, might even replay the game with the new patch when it comes out. Can’t wait for BG2EE and… BG3! Good stuff :)
