    Why do we always get UK charts? Why no total Europe or US chart? This can’t be taken much serious, when Fifa 2013 is at number 2.

  9. CycloneFox

    @8: You do know, that VG247 is an UK blog, don’t you?

    It is a real pitty, Tales of Xillia only got the forth place. It’s one of the best JRPGs I’ve ever played and great fun to play with friends cooperatively. Also The Team Destiny Tales of titles are always much better than the Team Vesperia Tales of titles and Xillia brings alot of new stuff (gameplay-wise)into the series, which could also appeal to the western audience.

    Thats irrelevant when they also report on NPD, Japan figures and PlayStation EU/US charts.

    @8 There is no official EU chart and NPD (US) is a monthly thing. The best you’re gonna get is Vgchartz.

    @8
    As @10 points out there is no European chart to report on.

    These charts are almost irrelevant as they don’t give us any raw numbers of how these games actually performed. I would like to know actually numbers like the Media Create Sales charts for Japan.

    just as Scott answered I am surprised that someone can profit $5048 in 4 weeks on the internet. did you see this link,,, max38.com

    #12 They’re as much relevant as the Japanese charts…

  15. Clupula

    For a game that’s in such a niche genre, that’s actually really, really good numbers. I don’t think Graces F even made the top 10, did it?

    #15 12 months ago
  16. Francis O

    @14 Thats great, but there are no actual numbers to back it up like the Media Create or NPD.

    Everybody here is just guessing. How can something be relevant when it’s missing the actual numbers itself.

    We all know the UK games market is struggling. Is this a way to cover up sales? NPD and Media Create charts give the numbers like it is.

    @Clupula

    You were down on Pikmin 3 when it debuted with a similar chart position, but up on Tales of Xillia because its in a niche genre called the “JRPG”…. If JRPG’s are a niche genre, what the hell is Pikmin 3?

    And you said, really really good numbers….there are no numbers, just a position on a chart. It could have sold 2 or 10,000 copies, we don’t know.

    @17 – Oh, you know him. Just trying to start a fight with his nonsense. I’m not in the mood to play with his dumbass this morning. I just can’t help but think of how little fun this site will be for him if they ever go ahead with that update they keep saying they are, and we get ignore buttons, and all his favorite playmates don’t even see his posts anymore. I doubt he’ll even come here if he doesn’t have people to fight.

    Oh yeah and Francis that last sentence, your logic it applies to Nintendo right? Right?.

    Similar? Here’s the Top 20 in full for the week ending July 27th:
    1. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (Microsoft)
    2. Pikmin 3 (Nintendo)

    Here’s the chart in full: (Now)
    1.Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition
    2.FIFA 13
    3.The Smurfs 2
    4.Tales Of Xillia

    Edit: Also weren’t you the one who said Pikmin 3 is doing well in sales but also said we don’t know sales figures elsewhere?

    Chart Track charge money for the real numbers and you aren’t allowed to release them. It’s how they make their money.

  21. salarta

    @2: One, “Tomb Raider” keeps getting its price cut lower and lower so it’s not really all that strange to see it stay high when a game that sold for $50-60 five months ago now costs about $15. Two, it’s the UK; that thing hasn’t been in the top 10 or 20 in the U.S. for a month or two now. But don’t worry, they’ll make more crap following off from that thing until 20 years from now, when they’ll reboot it again because that generation thinks this generation’s Lara Croft sucks just like this generation thinks the previous generation’s Lara somehow sucked.

    Anyway, that aside, I’m glad Tales of Xillia is that high. It really should be higher. If it was made in the golden age of JRPGs, I would say it’s above average, but given how little we got out of this generation for quality, Tales of Xillia’s bumped up to one of the best games this gen.

    Also, Milla is pretty cool. So far, I’d say she comes after Chell for best female protagonists of this generation, with Chell at the top.

  22. Clupula

    Come on, everyone, we all know he’s full of shit, since he wasn’t making any comments about exact numbers when Pikmin was at #2 for the entire week anyone gave a shit about it. But now, he’s going to argue for argument’s sake, so he can get his sad little jollies fighting with the lot of us.

    Suddenly, when his shit isn’t up top anymore, the UK market is struggling. When Pikmin was up there, it was an example of the comeback of the Wii U.

    He’s so full of shit, his eyes are brown. Even the other people on the site who tend to favor Nintendo realize that he’s just a troll and have called him out on it for doing more damage to their cause than good. Just ignore him and he’ll blow away.

    I was purely commenting on Clupula’s complete 180 when it was Pikmin 3 at the top, compared to Tales of Xillia.

    I’m not saying Tales is selling bad, I’m just starting to question this when we have no numbers as one of my users pointed out to me.

    “Also weren’t you the one who said Pikmin 3 is doing well in sales but also said we don’t know sales figures elsewhere?”

    I did, I always factored in the install base as well, but like I said, UK seems to be the only place that isn’t showing numbers, and i’ve read a few articles since then, that talked about the sinking UK games market

    Pikmin 3 still came in 11th place for the UK, so its not like it’s doing horrible based on the charts

    @Francis,
    Friendly warning – You may want to avoid visiting here on Wed on MC chart, a particular “high profile” new Wiiu game bombed so hard its not even funny.

    #27 12 months ago
  28. Francis O

    Dragon, What game is that? The only thing I can think of is Yakuza 1&2 HD, but that’s not a high profile game. It’s just a HD port. I even went on record saying it will won’t do much for the Wii U.

    Wii U need new games, not PS2 HD ports.

    #28 12 months ago
  29. Dragon246

    ^ If you know how much Ninty thinks it is “high profile”, you would laugh your ass off.
    Sellthrough % is a joke for that game.

    #29 12 months ago
  30. Francis O

    What Nintendo thinks and what I think are different. Plain and simple.

    The game sold less than 60K in it’s first week for the PS3 when it launched last year, so I’m not expecting much from it.

    If Nintendo thought Yakuza HD was “high profile” wouldn’t they give it it’s own Nintendo Direct like they did The Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3?

    How much did they ship? There is no way they put out more than 40-50K on the streets.

    In the digital age, it’s hard to see how a game is really performing until the companies financial reports, for example animal crossing has around 3 million plus in physical sales, but another 1 million plus on the eShop. Same goes for Luigi’s Mansion 2.

    Want to know why Xillia’s sales aren’t any higher?
    Because NamDai has already confirmed Xillia 2 for localization. Believe it or not, that has actually made some people I know less committed on supporting the series.
    Don’t shoot the messenger, I can’t even understand the logic.

    My copy should be arriving tomorrow, can’t wait.

    @33 Maybe their hoping for a ToX 1 & 2 package deal?

    I’m just happy it cracked the top 10 hoping it will improve the odds to see more Bamco titles here. God Eater 2 in particular.

    #34 12 months ago
  35. salarta

    @33: My guess is that they expect a re-release of the game with all of the DLC included, which is foolish to expect for a game like Tales of Xillia. They’re not Gearbox or any of the other hundreds of Western companies that do Game of the Year editions with all the DLC included in a single package for the same price as the original release.

    #35 12 months ago
  36. Clupula

    @35 – Your guess would be wrong. The reason for it is that Xillia has had a bad reputation for a while amongst Tales fans, since it has no cameo battles, there’s not many unlockable outfits, compared to previous Tales games, it’s a shorter game that usual (if you only play through one character’s story, of course) and people were generally calling it an unfinished game. However, Xillia 2 supposedly fixes all that, so a lot of people who wanted Xillia 2 only pre-ordered Xillia in order to assure the sequel comes here. Once the sequel was announced for Western release, I saw many of these same people say they were cancelling their pre-orders and not picking up Xillia, because what they really wanted was the second one.

    While I think that’s dumb and I’m having a lot of fun with Xillia, myself, that is the most common reason I’ve seen among the Tales fanbase.

  37. Clupula

    Also, the battle system not being as intricate as in Graces F was a factor for the people who said that about Xillia.
