Cyberpunk 2077 to contain both first- and third person perspective – rumour

Cyberpunk 2077 may contain mixed perspectives, according to this presentation.

Developer CD Projekt Red may have been a bit quiet when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077 lately, but a PDF document apparently showing the firm’s presentation at this year’s SIGGRAPH computer graphics conference mentions that the RPG will have both third- and first-person perspectives.

As spotted by GAF, the document also mentions “dense city environment + surrounding wastelands, tons of customization,” among the game’s features.

You can download the presentation here.

Cyberpunk 2077 has no date as yet.

They only have small design team for Cyberpunk so I’d say that nothing is set in stone just yet.

Nothing is ever set in stone really. Regardless of team size. Maybe some fundamental design choices like “Cyberpunk 2077 will be a cRPG game” are pretty much guaranteed to never change, but everything else is subject to some form of tweaking, especially this far from release.
This project will of course speed up once The Witcher 3 hits the shelves, and CDPR has more people to divert in this direction.

Not a fan when you have third and first person in games. Stick with one view.

Look at latest TES. first person view is well made while third person was okay…

Or modern Warfare 2 where first person is well made while third person view sucks hard.

In D:HR you only played in first person and third person view was just for dialogs and special attacks.

I don’t like the sudden out of body experience like in Deus Ex. The good thing was the player wasn’t forced to use the cover system….
I’d wish the game would offer a choice like in Fallout 3/NV and Oblivion/Skyrim.

I generally prefer Third-person view point in Role-Playing games. But when it comes too shooting shit up, I like an iron-sight mode as well.
