Friday, 21st June 2013 15:43 GMT By Sam Clay

VG247 caught up with the DayZ dev team during E3 acquire more details on the highly anticipated release. This included a chance to flythrough some of the newly re-developed areas of the map and to take a look at a few new things as well.

Dean Hall and Matt Lightfoot were on hand to shout into microphones and make it all look pretty.

Dean Hall shows us more stuff, including a boat!

Hall also answered the highest rated questions on Reddit for us, you can watch that video here again if you like.

DayZ will have a panel at this weekend’s Rezzed Expo where the team will, no doubt, announce a few more interesting details about the game.

On the monitors sideward you can see that the Zombie animations and movement are still way off. One thing that really pissed me off where those unpredictable yet superfast movements. And do I still need to run for ten minutes, up the hill, behind trees to get rid of them?

rocket was saying on his reddit interview that the event handler for the animations (the thing that makes the animation line up with the actual action) was only finished on the 3rd day of E3

also its not lauching finsihed, if you don’t like how it works on release give feedback, its Alpha and that what alpha is for

if you care so much about animations i suggest you go find some other game to play ~ there are plenty of zombie games out there which focus on visuals and cinematics. DayZ should be about hardcore survival gameplay ~ so it doesn’t matter if the animations are a bit rough. Also in my opinion one of the reasons why the mod had so many problems with PvP was because zombies simply were not dangerous enough. Getting rid of the “superfast movements” and making them typical slow moving movie-style zombies would just make them even less lethal.

Just buy Dead Rising 3 instead or stop moaning

@2&3 I guess you guys haven’t played DayZ then? I played it *a lot*. And the animation has nothing to do with “visuals and cinematics” or that I prefer slow moving Zombies. The animations and movements are off. Call them broken even, but far from what you would expect.

I have already given my feedback several times, I just hope they take care …
