Halo 4 War Games Pass has been announced by Microsoft and 343 Industries which gives the player a 15% discount on three War Games map packs.

It will run you $24.99/2000 MS Points and provides automatic access when the packs are released in December, February and April. Map Pass purchasers will receive two bonus in-game helmets – Scanner and Strider -and a unique in-game emblem -‘Falcon.

All three Map Packs provide classic Halo combat and the new feature-set of Halo Infinity Multiplayer.

Descriptions and tentative release dates are as follows:

Crimson Map Pack (December)

  • Maps: Wreckage, Harvest, Shatter: Witness the chaos of a clash of civilizations in Wreckage, with its blend of claustrophobic spaces and dangerous exposures and venture into the human colony environs of Harvest, and explore a human foray on an alien moon in Shatter.

Majestic Map Pack (February)

  • Maps: Landfall, Monolith, Skyline: Landfall’s emphasis is on infantry battles against a glittering ocean on a distant world, while Monolith exposes you to the naked vacuum of space – and the firepower of opposing teams, and Skyline’s distinctly industrial feel provides new challenges in somewhat familiar, but occasionally confined spaces.

Castle Map Pack (April)

  • Maps: Daybreak, Outcast, Perdition: Daybreak is set in a military facility against the backdrop of an idyllic mountain range, while Outcast plunges you into the warrens, canyons and arches of an alien edifice, and Perdition takes players into the heart of an urban sprawl, with tactical speed and situational awareness its key features.

The Halo 4 War Games Map Pass is also included as part of the Halo 4 Limited Edition.

Game’s out November 6. Concept art for the aforementioned maps is below courtesy of AGB.

i preordered the limited edition. those 3 map packs will be “free” with that version. in europe the limited ed.costs only 10 to 15 euro more – so it´s a no brainer really if you plan to play this online a lot…..and, well, this is halo. limited is sold out though, at least atm. i believe you´ll be able to order/preorder it again at some point. don´t think it was THAT limited – or was it. oh boy oh boy, i so cannot wait for this. go buy yourselves a 360 everyone. get the 20gb with hdmi one plus this game or something like that. it´ll be worth it!

Don’t laugh, but I actually pre-ordered the limited edition because of the extended version of Forward Unto Dawn. That was back in the day, before I thought that it would suck and before I found out, that it’s actually quite good …
