Halo: Master Chief HD Collection rumored for E3 reveal

Master Chief may be gracing your TV screens much sooner than 2015 if the latest rumors are accurate.

According to sources close to Engadget, Microsoft plans on releasing an HD collection featuring numbered Halo titles.

The Halo:Master Chief Collection is said to include: Halo: Combat Evolved (Halo 1), Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4.

Sources close to the site didn't specify whether Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach were included, but Engadget believes it's unlikely. The site also suspects the developer to be Combat Evolved Anniversary's Saber Interactive, which just so happen to be working on an unannounced Xbox One project.

Meanwhile, NeoGAFer Shinobi602 who prepared the Internet for the Halo 5: Guardians announcement ahead of time, said on Twitter the rumor is indeed true, and if he "were a betting man" Microsoft would announce it during its E3 2014 stage presentation.

Format speculation was not provided, so it's unknown whether the collection will be released on PC as well as Xbox One, and possibly Xbox 360.
