Modern Warfare 3 to get 20 DLC drops over next 9 months
Activision has announced that over the next nine months, Modern Warfare 3 players can expect 20 content drops, arriving first for Call of Duty: Elite members.

The first content pack will be released on January 24 with multiplayer maps Liberation and Piazza on Xbox Live, followed by additional platforms at a later date. During the first three months of 2012, Activision will release five different content drops on three occasions in January, February and March, again, first on Xbox Live and then on PC and PS3 once the exclusivity period ends.
“With the Call of Duty: MW3 Content Season for Call of Duty Elite, we are delivering on our promise of more new content, more often, and with more variety than ever,” said Activision publishing CEO Eric Hrishberg.
The third Content Drop will be available for download mid-February and two additional drops will go live in March as well as the first Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection, which will be made available for purchase by the “entire” Xbox Live community.
All content drops for Call of Duty Elite premium members will occur once a month, starting in January and ending in September.

More variety can only be a good thing, but I’m 99% sure that they’ll get a better margin by offering 1 or 2 guns at a time, as opposed to 10 at once.
Looks like we’re heading from DLC to micro-DLC.

#1 “Looks like we’re heading from DLC to micro-DLC”.
I dont know if iam going to laugh or cry about it, because in the end people will paid it nontheless, and developers seeing their success, the future will be paying just for the notification of the DLC, which will be valid to download the DLC just like a boucher.

Wait a minute, there are 5 content drops in the 1st 3 months but Elite payers get them once a month no matter what?
Seems like a bit of a shit deal, plus it’s going to split their player base more than just having dlc normally would: people with no dlc, people with Elite dlc, people who buy dlc as it comes.

@4 you are a funny guy.
The only community Activision cares about is the money they bathe in.
Sheep are sheeps, they will be used as long as possible and then slaughtered.

Well done, you’ve just come to the realisation that most corporations don’t give a flying fuck about their supports and will screw them over as much as possible if they know they can make money out of it.
If people don’t like it, they need to vote with their wallets and stop buying this regurgitated pile of shit every year, or they’ll just (to put it politely) keep fucking consumers up the ass ass again and again.

Is it just me or does that park looking level look remarkably similar to the park in the Metro map for BF3?
