Modern Warfare 3 to get 20 DLC drops over next 9 months

Activision has announced that over the next nine months, Modern Warfare 3 players can expect 20 content drops, arriving first for Call of Duty: Elite members.

The first content pack will be released on January 24 with multiplayer maps Liberation and Piazza on Xbox Live, followed by additional platforms at a later date. During the first three months of 2012, Activision will release five different content drops on three occasions in January, February and March, again, first on Xbox Live and then on PC and PS3 once the exclusivity period ends.

"With the Call of Duty: MW3 Content Season for Call of Duty Elite, we are delivering on our promise of more new content, more often, and with more variety than ever," said Activision publishing CEO Eric Hrishberg.

The third Content Drop will be available for download mid-February and two additional drops will go live in March as well as the first Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection, which will be made available for purchase by the "entire" Xbox Live community.

All content drops for Call of Duty Elite premium members will occur once a month, starting in January and ending in September.
