Bloodbath Arena DLC delayed for Dead Island

Deep Silver and Techland have announced Dead Island’s Bloodbath Arena DLC has been delayed.

According to a post on the game’s official Facebook page: “We are working hard to make the Bloodbath Arena DLC available as soon as possible. However, due to further polishing of the main game the finalisation of the DLC code has been delayed.

“We know that many fans are eagerly waiting for it and apologise for any inconvenience. We expect to announce a release update next week.”

Earlier this month, the game’s publisher announced that the DLC could possibly see a delay as the dev team continued to focus on fixing gameplay bugs, and various other issues.

Bloodbath Arena, the first of two downloadable content packs planned, was originally scheduled for a late-September release.

Crippling bugs > DLC

If this company had put testing as a priority they wouldn’t have to do this. This will end up biting them in the ass and I doubt they will be able to make another game.

Bollocks.
The game has been a huge success and has had a positive reception from most of the gamers who can see past the flaws and enjoy the fantastic experience that Dead Island offers. It’s not perfect, no. But it offers a damned sight more than most FPS on the market and deserves to be a success and the sequel will build on it.

Or do a Call of Jaurez…

No, in all honesty, I can see Techland and Deep Silver sinking big money into a follow up. Maybe even give it to a more confident developer.
Just Cause X Dead Island would + pure joy.

Be in denial all you want. I have met people and read some of the responses because of it being so bugged where people have traded the game back in after coming to a bug where your game doesn’t save. I have lost 5 hours because of of this. And they still haven’t fixed this bug or many other crippling bugs. Right now they are throwing money down a blackhole to try to fix what should have been taken care of in the first place. Minor bugs are understandable but bugs that make the game unstable is just a huge no no. Now Techland is trying to catch their own tail in order to fix the game, well its too late, games will be coming out in a few days to a few weeks that will put this game at the bottom of the barrel and remembered as the game “with that awesome trailer. “

I guess the man of the house is lucky, as he has had zero issues thus far with the PS3 version of the game. As a matter of fact, Dead Island has turned me into a “gaming widow”.

^ Same here, at least nearly; The game was flawless up in till the jungle. There i was pretty much getting stuck in the scenery, behind rocks and stuff by accident, just by seemingly following paths. Other than that though i had no issues with the game and beat it today.

@5 & 6

Consider yourself very luckly you can go to the technical forum of Dead Island and you can see the issues its filled with. WIth the saving issue I had found the underlying cause of it and then avoided it like the plague. The cause has something to do with playing in Co Op mode for a long period of time that the save feature stops working and snowballs. It will say “Game Saved” but its really not saving.

Nothing is more annoying than doing the same quest 4 times trying to figure the cause of the bug.

I’ve had only one small bug in 45+ hours co-op with my girlfriend (she dropped a weapon for me and it fell through the floor).

Have loved playing it and haven’t had any game breakers yet

Guess we’ve just been lucky!

I beat it in single player so i was safe from the save issue. From what i’ve heard its been patched now.

No its not at least not on the PS3 or PC that first “patch” was only 30 mbs and it was minute tweaks to the game not fixing any of the crucial bugs. Techland had responded that they knew about the bug prior to the release of that patch and the next patch will fix it.

I reckon the last several hours were piss poor & inconclusive. & how dare they make the Australian government seem ignorantly certain about things they don’t know about, that’s totally differ… oh wait, no, they were at least spot on with that part. But I guess that goes for every politician in every country.
