Infinity Ward says No to Modern Warfare 3 Prestige Edition
Hate to break it to ya, folks – but Infinity Ward has confirmed that there will be no shiny Prestige Edition of Modern Warfare 3 when it launches later this year.

Previous Modern Warfares have been released with night vision goggles, remote-controlled cars and all manner of fun stuff, but speaking on Twitter, IW’s creative strategist Robert Bowling stated simply that there would be “only a Hardened Edition” for Modern Warfare 3.
That’s the one that costs $99.99 and includes 12 months subscription to Call of Duty Elite – so it’s not like you’re missing out totally, but I can imagine there’s a few swag junkies out there who will be a little disappointed they don’t get something else new and shiny with which to “decorate” the games room.

I’m speechless, why wouldn’t they want to make more money?

@1 Well, when you rehash the same crap over and over again, I guess it becomes increasingly difficult to come up with news ideas for vastly overpriced, inferior quality tacky merchandise to package up and pawn off to the consumer for twice its market value every year.
Which fits perfectly with the game itself, when you think about it.
Why pay outside companies to manufacture and ship cheap “night vision” binoculars or poorly constructed RC Cars when you can just offer up a virtual online service – that involves nothing more than the transfer of data – to people stupid enough to pay for it?

They probably didn’t sell very well. You can still get Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Editions brand new at regular price, which is bad for something that was supposed to be a fancy, limited edition collector’s item.
