Quick Quotes: Treyarch has nothing to do with map pack pricing
“You know, we’re on the development side, so we don’t really have much to do with the business aspect of it, but we just strive to give players the most value that we can possibly give. If you look at how many hours – in some cases, hundreds of hours – for some players of entertainment they get, I think it’s an incredible value. We’ve had three DLC map packs for the fans within about six to seven months of launch, which is a record for us. I think it’s incredible, and everyone’s really excited about the fact that we can support a game for that long and keep the fans interested.” – Black Ops multiplayer lead Dan Bunting to Gama on why map packs run 1200 MSP each.

i agree that there really is some incredible amount of replay value. i am one of those “hundreds of hours” cod players. what i would really like to see though would be to have the option to choose single maps rather than these packs. i don´t play the zombi stuff and some mp maps i don´t like and i can already see which by just watching the map gameplay trailers. i´d appreciate as well if there would be an ingame option for me to pick which maps i want to have on rotation and which not. it would be simple to implement and would really make it much more fun to play because there are some maps i really don´t like/almost hate and some i like/love…hope they will make this happen once. other than that map packs really are a great value BUT like everything on xbl or psn they are slightly overpriced which is annoying. same with movies and games on demand. they are a bit too greedy. if they would cut prices down a little they would sell more and make more money out of it in the end i´m sure.

@2&3 – I refrained from stating that in the post, but I REALLY wanted to. But I said it to my co-workers at any rate :p
