Treyarch to keep track of those exploiting glitches in Black Ops

Treyarch doesn’t take kindly to cheaters, and it plans on punishing those who use exploits found in Call of Duty: Black Ops to win in an unsavory manner.

According to the game’s multiplayer director, David Vonderhaar, the team may start throwing the ban hammer down if folks don’t start playing fair, and also expressed a bit of exasperation over those who deliberately post videos online on how to exploit glitches.

“What many of these people want is to be Internet nerd famous,” he wrote on the game’s forums. “I’m not going to make them famous and you shouldn’t either. Internet hysteria from normal people is exactly what they want and that’s how many people reacted today. You gave them exactly what they want.

“Given the opportunity, I’d personally wield the ban hammer for anyone who thinks he is clever by abusing any glitches. Good thing I don’t have the opportunity that often and we actually have a constructive, measured, and well-managed live ops team.  We said we would support the game. We are going to support it.

“I’ve gone out of my way using my own limited, personal time to try and get to know about 8000 (and growing) as best I can. The last thing I want is for you to think that because I don’t talk about it … that we don’t know or care about it. We didn’t spend 2 years of our lives to toss it all in the trash in one day.  I thank all of you who sent in polite, constructive messages without the hysterics.

“So here is my one and only public statement about it. I’m not going to talk about it publicly. We are disinterested in making mini-celebrities out of douche-bags. You better think twice before you glitch. You never know who in your game doesn’t like glitchers who reports you and saves the game in their File Share and tells us about it.

“Our forum admins and VIPs along with [Josh Olin] (Community Manager) will be managing the communication directly.”

So, it sounds like Treyarch may ban persistent cheaters if it doesn’t stop.

Black Ops is out now on PC, Ps3, and Xbox 360, in case you just woke from a long nap or something.

I’m quite surprised at how much content feels cut out of the game in MP. For starters a good number of weapons that are in SP arent in MP. And killstreaks only go up to 11 (if i recall) with the ‘best’ one being pretty much the apache from MW2. Also, no proper flamethrower and no deathstreaks.

I know TreyArch cut stuff they felt was unbalanced but seriously guys, rather then rip stuff out and leave the spaces, atleast have some balls and try to replace it.
The missing weapons really are puzzling, the flamethrower especially because it was one of WaW main attractions.

I want a proper flamethrower, not an attachment.

Oh yeah, and another thing that dosnt seem to be present in MP, the gore. You cant dismember people like in SP, or WaW’s MP. Another puzzling choice by the devs.
