Street Fighter x Tekken – new shots

Capcom’s released ten new shots of Street Fighter x Tekken via Unity. Get them after the break.
The shots mostly show Ryu, Jin and Nina. Chun-Li’s a no-show; appeared in the gameplay demo on Saturday.
That said, this is Street Fighter x Tekken. Street Fighter x Tekken. Shots are below.
The game, and its opposite Namco Bandai partner, Tekken vs Street Fighter, was announced during Comic-Con on Saturday night for PS3 and 360.
Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono said not to expect it for a long time time yet, with 2012 being the earliest for release.

@1:I think it’s part of the commercial policy of capcom. Even in the first trailer of marvel vs capcom 3 ryu was beaten by wolverine.
I think that this way of promoting is needed to represent the newcomer as a powerful enemy and increase the will to avenge ryu playing the game.

That was my initial thoughts upon hearing the announcement, but when you watch the gameplay trailer you’ll notice the fight mechanics has changed drastically, with a strong emphasis on combos, juggling and tag teams. Seems as though Ryu has been given loads of target combos. Gameplay wise, they are borrowing very heavily from Tekken, and i think the end result will be something really fresh and new. In fact with all the combos the closest thing it resembles for me is Mortal Kombat
i wouldn’t be surprised if all Capcom characters end up getting ten hit combos (a staple of the Tekken series)
TBH i don’t really like rhythmic combo gameplay, but i guess i’m just going to have to learn. The SF4 team obviously like it as half of the new characters they brought in for SSF4 had multiple target combos
