Gore Verbinski passes on fourth Pirates film to do BioShock movie
Director Gore Verbinski has passed on the fourth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise in order to focus on the upcoming BioShock movie.
That’s fine, because, if we’re being honest, the last PotC film was shit anyway.
Take-Two head Strauss Zelnick said last year that the BioShock movie will release alongside a third game.

Yes, the third PotC film was shit (utter shit actually).
If the film is being released alongside a 3rd game will the story be based on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd game story arc, or be a shitty stand alone story that is Bioshock in name only whilst adhering very very loosely to anything resembling a Bioshock plot?
P.S. Wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up almost identical to the 1st Resident Evil movie, crappy survival horror where a band of hapless Rapture inhabitants try and escape the crumbling city, probably including at least one recently arrived outsider.
And they’ll replace the Big Daddies with Dr Manhattan.

Frankly I thought the 2nd one was worse. Neither were anywhere near as good as the original but at least the third one didn’t have so many “oh God no they didn’t” moments.
He must have made some serious dough though because that 4th PotC movie represents a lot more financial security to give up.

The first time we got a babysitter ( in 12 f-ing months ) after our daughter was born we went to see PotC2. We then made the mistake on our second babysit of going to see PotC3, thinking it couldn’t be that bad again.
If you interview Gore Verbinski about the movie at any point tell the bastard I want my money back. All of it. Fucking waste of petrol getting to the cinema let alone paying to see it. Bastard.
