What Are The Best Game Deals This Black Friday? 2013 Edition

Black Friday deals, Thanksgiving sales, and Steam Autumn Sales, oh my! Here's some of the best deals for this Thanksgiving holiday.

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

I like saving money at much as the next guy. Thanks to the rise of Amazon and the decline of retail, I haven't paid full price for a new game in three years. Retailers are jumping at the chance to undercut each other and make you a loyal consumer. This fact is never as apparent as it is on Black Friday, the dark 'holiday' that retailers in the United States have created to whip Christmas shoppers into a buying frenzy. Black Friday is the time to get your game on folks. There's a ton of deals out there, but I'm here to show you the best of the best.

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Seriously? The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 just came out. You get no deals here my friends.

PlayStation 3

Just jumping into the last generation of consoles? GameStop, Toys R' Us, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart will all have the 250 GB PlayStation 3 with The Last of Us and Batman: Arkham Origins for only $199. Amazon's version of this deal will go live at 3:10 pm PT on Thanksgiving, November 28. Fry's Electronics will beat the rest by offering the same bundle at $187.77.

Don't want to wait? That bundle is available at Kmart right now.

If you're looking for something slightly cheaper, Walmart will have the 12GB PlayStation 3 for only $149.99.

GameStop is also selling a year's subscription to PlayStation Plus - required for PS4 online play! - for only $29.99, which is $20 off the normal price.

Xbox 360

The best Xbox 360 deal has to be Best Buy's bundle: a 250 GB Xbox 360, Halo 4, Darksiders II, Tomb Raider (digital code), and Batman: Arkham City (digital code), all for $189.99. Some others come close, but there's nothing else that deep.

Target also has 3 months of Xbox Live for only $10.

3DS

Target is selling all its 3DS XLs for $50 off on Black Friday! This brings most of the units down to $149.99 and the Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 3DS XL bundle down to $169.99. Some outlets are reporting that the Zelda bundle is down to $150 like the other units, but Target is disagreeing, so your mileage may vary.

Kmart will have its 3DS XLs at the $149.99 price on Thanksgiving, not Black Friday. So, that's good if you have no family who loves you.

Wii U

Toys R' Us has the best Wii U bundle on the block: you get a Wii U Basic unit, Skylanders SWAP Force, 3 Skylander figures, and the Portal of Power accessory for $259.99.

PlayStation Vita

Best Buy is selling the 3G/WiFi PlayStation Vita for $169.99 right now, heading into Black Friday. Not only is the basic model $170, but the Walking Dead Vita bundle is also the same price! Amazon has the Walking Dead Bundle, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Retro City Rampage, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss, all for $179.99. Newegg has beat them both with the Vita 3G WiFi at $155 on Ebay!

Sega Genesis

What? Don't look at me. You can get the Sega Genesis Classic Console with 80 games from Toys R' Us for $29.99 on Friday. $20 off is a good deal!

The Games

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag on Xbox 360 will be going for $33.99 at the Microsoft Store. The PS3 version will join the 360 version for $34.99 at Best Buy and Walmart.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be $29.99 at Best Buy for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. You can expect to see a similar version of this deal on Amazon at 2:10 pm PT on November 28, but the Steam PC version is already selling for $19.99 on Amazon's Digital Store.

Battlefield 4 on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 will be $25 at GameStop and Walmart. Amazon's version is coming in hot at 6:10 pm PT on Thanksgiving, but I'm unsure if it'll be this cheap. Slickdeals also has a way to get Battlefield 4 on PC for only $20 though Origin.

The lowest price for Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is $39.99 at Walmart and the Microsoft Store. You can pick up the game on Xbox One via Ebay for $40 on Xbox One. Sorry folks, the PS4 version is sold out.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is down to $25 at Target, GameStop, and Walmart and the PC version is $23.99 at GameFly with the coupon code GFDNOV20. It was a good game that sold below estimates for Ubisoft, so here's your chance to pick it up!

Part of Walmart's Black Friday ad.

Beyond: Two Souls, FIFA 13, Madden 25, LEGO Marvel Superheroes, Saints Row IV, and The Last of Us for PS3/360 will all be $25 at Walmart. Amazon will have Beyond: Two Souls and The Last of Us at the same price at 3:10 pm PT on November 28.

Interested in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for PS3? It'll be a cool $20 at GameStop on Black Friday. Square Enix is selling the PC Download for $14.99 on its own internal store and on Amazon. Gamefly is matching that deal and with the the coupon code GFDNOV20, you can purchase the game for only $12!

Walmart again beats the competition with Grand Theft Auto V for $34, but the Microsoft Store matches that price on the 360 version. Amazon will match that deal when its GTAV sale goes live on 2:10 pm PT on November 28.

Elder Scrolls Anthology for PC, which is normally $79.99, will be only $29.99 at Best Buy! Amazon also has the game as a $24.99 Lightning Deal right now. That's Skyrim Legendary Edition, Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall, and Arena, all in one package.

Atlus is selling Persona 4 Golden on PlayStation Vita for $19.99 (on Amazon and the PlayStation Store) and Shin Megami Tensei IV on 3DS for $29.99 (on Amazon and the 3DS eShop)!

You RPG fans should pick up Tales of Xillia at GameStop and Amazon on Friday, when it's only $19.99! Are you an RPG fan with a Nintendo Wii or Wii U? Xenoblade Chronicles will also be discounted, down from $69.99 to $39.99.

Gamefly has Bioshock Infinite for PC (Steam) down to an absolutely silly $7.99 with instant savings and the coupon code GFDNOV20.

PC Download Sales

The Steam Autumn Sale is going on right now until December 3! Remember the rules: only buy Daily Deals or Flash Sales until the final day, because those are when discounts are at their greatest!

I mentioned a few of the deals earlier, but GameFly PC download sale is pretty hot overall, especially if you use coupon code GFDNOV20.

USgamer reader Jinqs has also pointed out that the Humble Bundle Store is running their own sale today! Kentucky Route Zero, Gone Home, and Rogue Legacy are half off!

Go forth and save, my children!
