Pokemon Sun and Moon players can now grab their very own Shiny Tapu Koko
A Shiny Tapu Koko is being handed out to Pokemon Sun and Moon players just for going online.
Pokemon Sun and Moon players need only to connect their 3DS to the Nintendo Network and select the Mystery Gift option in order to grab the Shiny Tapu Koko.
Once players have completed this step, they need only pick up their gift from the delivery man at any Pokemon Center.
Here's step-by-step instructions just in case you need them:
- Select Mystery Gift on the main menu.
- Select Receive Gift.
- Select Get via Internet, and then Yes to connect to the Internet.
- Watch as you receive Tapu Koko.
- Speak to the delivery person in any Pokémon Center to pick up Tapu Koko.
- Save your game.
The level 60 Tapu Koko is level features the abilities Electric Surge, signature move Nature’s Madness, and electric moves Discharge, Agility and Electro Ball.
The Pokemon's Electric Surge ability creates an Electric Terrain when it enters the field. If the creature is holding the Electric Seed it comes with, it's defense will increase.
Tapu Koko's aforementioned signature move, Nature's Madness, will take more than half of the HP of its target. It can also perform two Electric-type moves, Discharge and Electro Ball, and perform the speed-boosting Agility move to stay one "step ahead" of its foe.
If players place a Z-Crystal in Tapu Koko's hand, it will become much more powerfu. Holding Tapunium Z will turn its Nature's Madness move into the Guardian of Alola attack, knocking 75% off the target's HP.
Holing the Electrium Z will unlock the Gigavolt Havoc attack, dealing 160 base damage to other Pokemon Sun and Moon creatures.
The Shiny version of Tapu Koko cannot be caught in Pokemon Sun and Moon, so this is the only way to get the creature.
You have until August 14 to acquire the Pokemon, so don't forget. It's probably best to go ahead and grab it.
