Here are Some Early PvP Highlights From the Destiny 2 Beta

The Destiny 2 beta is already providing some great clips.

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

The Destiny 2 beta is up right now for PlayStation 4 players who pre-ordered the game, and fans have been eager to show off their kills (or deaths) in Bungie's newest space opera. As streamers rush to the internet to provide video, we highlight some of the best Destiny 2 action we've seen so far in this very early part of the beta.

Most players are heading straight towards PvP rather than any story content, but the crucible is the fire in which we are all tested anyways so that makes sense. And while it's still too early to tell which of these guardians will rise through the beta to become, I don't know, king of the beta? We at least have some cool clips to look through while some of us are at work and unable to jump into the beta. Or we're Xbox One players, PC players, or people who didn't pre-order Destiny 2.

Anyways, let's jump in.

Right out of the gates, players are proving their mettle. Although given how little time passed between Bungie's transition from the first Destiny to Destiny 2, players' skills are probably largely intact.

Here are a pair of multi-kill videos, but that last-minute teleport in the second video was actually really impressive.

While you're at it, get a load of this hot shot who clears the room and the enemy team in one go.

One problem I noticed people were having (two people, but maybe more?) was the hit detection on melee attacks in multiplayer PvP doesn't seem to be working as intended?

This Guardian goes one versus four just to show off.

Far and away this is probably the most impressive clip I've seen on Twitch. I mean, I didn't even know you could mod the Destiny 2 beta to VR and the Wiimote.

So there you have it, some badass highlights from the Destiny 2 beta on day one. It was a pleasure rounding these up for you all, though I'm sure if I was allowed to play while making this round-up a few of my own highlights could have made it in here.

I'm curious how people will respond to the beta over the course of the week. I haven't had the time to dig into how the gameplay might have changed in Destiny 2 as my last hands-on demo was on the PC which is a whole other animal.

Have you gotten into the Destiny 2 beta? Feel free to share your experiences below in the comments, I'd love to see them. The Destiny 2 beta opens up to Xbox One players tomorrow, with a PC beta planned for sometime in August.
