DICE has released a new Battlefield 5 trailer ahead of the launch of the game's Lightning Strikes chapter.

Lightning Strikes is the second Tides of War chapter for Battlefield 5, the game's live service component. Kicking off on January 17 and live until early March, this chapter will bring lots of new content to the game.

For starters, we have a vague launch date for Battlefield 5's Combined Arms co-op mode, that being February. Before next month rolls around, though, we'll have plenty to keep us busy with the new Squad Conquest mode, new weapons, vehicles, and cosmetics.

Squad Conquest is an 8v8 new game mode available on three maps: Arras, Hamada, and Rotterdam. The mode takes place on new layouts for each of these maps, to fit the new format. Squad Conquest will be available only until January 30, but DICE hasn't ruled out the possibility of it returning later.

Lightning Strikes is made up of 30 ranks, available as part of five weekly events. A Few Good Soldiers is the first one, kicking off on January 17. Like the first chapter, expect new weapons to be available as unlocks for everyone to earn.

Some of the confirmed weapons so far are the Zk-383 SMG for the Medic, Modele 1944 semi-automatic rifle for the Assault, and the M1922 MMG for the Support. There are also two new tank destroyers, one for each faction, though it's not yet clear how we'll be able to unlock them.

Battlefield 5 is getting a patch, likely tomorrow, that will come with a host of changes and fixes, including some of that content.

In the trailer above, we get a glimpse of the Combined Arms episodes, as well as the new weapons, and vehicles. There's also a Firestorm teaser at the end.
