Battlefield 3 TDM capped at 24 players on PC

Battlefield 3's Team Deathmatch mode will be limited to 24 players on all platforms, shattering PC players' dreams of 64-player fragfests.

Fansite BF3blog reports DICE revealed the cross-platform player cap during gamescom, dispelling hopes the previously announced console player cap of 24 would not be applied to the PC version.

Team Deathmatch makes its first appearance in the core Battlefield series with this release, but is hugely popular in competing games.

PC fans can still enjoy more populated multiplayer in Conquest Mode, which famously supports 64 players. Battlefield 3 will also host Rush, Squad Deathmatch, Squad Rush and co-operative play.

Battlefield 3 is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at the end of October.
