Dying Light is getting a Left 4 Dead crossover of some kind

While Valve still struggles to count to three, Techland is carrying the torch. There’s some kind of crossover event coming where Dying Light teams up with Left 4 Dead, reanimating the corpse of one of the best co-op shooters ever made.

Rather than being an announcement for the upcoming Dying Light 2 (which was one of the most impressive demos of E3, by the way), this event seems to be for the first game, a four year old game Techland is still supporting with updates.

Here’s the announcement tweet:

Techland also teased the event a few days ago, tweeting out an infographic with “we don’t want you to be left 4 dead waiting for the results”.

While we don’t know any more details about what it is, I’d probably temper your excitement a little bit. It’s unlikely to be something like entirely new enemies from Left 4 Dead plonked into the game - it’d take a lot of work to get witches in there, etc. My guess is that there will be some character skins and voice packs, or something along those lines. Still, it’s nice to see that Valve remembers that its game is a thing that exists.

Still, believe Techland when it says Dying Light 2 will get four years of support.
