Override: Mech City Brawl is a 3D mech brawler coming this year.

Developed by indie studio The Balance Inc., Override: Mech City Brawl brings towering mechs to major cities around the world in 1v1 and 2v2 setups.

Mechs can go at it hand to hand, or using their ranged weapons. The reveal trailer shows half a dozen different mechs, and The Balance promises a varied roster – 12 to be exact – of mechs each offering a particular play style.

On top of the traditional versus modes, Override also includes a single-player campaign. The most interesting feature, however, has to be the party mode which allows up to four players to control a single mech.

One player can control the hands, another the legs, while a different one pilots the mech. The cities themselves are entirely destructible, which is really all you can hope for with a game like this.

Override will let you customise your mechs with different unlockable accessories and skins.

We also get to see a glimpse of the single-player mode in the trailer, which appears to feature monsters, Pacific Rim-style.

Override: Mech City Brawl is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on December 4, priced $29.99 / £24.99.

Next month, you’ll be able to test it out in the closed beta, which takes place August 10-12. You can sign up at the official site.
