Pokemon on Switch will reportedly focus on Kanto Pokemon, just like the original App did

The Pokemon Switch rumours continue, with the latest news suggesting that the title will focus on Kanto pokemon, just like Pokemon Go.

The new Pokemon game for Nintendo Switch was seemingly outed last week when domain names were registered for Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee, apparently confirming a 4chan leak from the day before. The same tipster is back, this time claiming that the title will focus on Kanto pokemon, following Pokemon GO's lead.

A screenshot of the 4chan thread was posted on Twitter, in which the poster states that Pokemon Let's GO's "first release" will feature "only Kanto pokemon."

This was elaborated on in a larger post last week, which claims that the setting is Kanto "100 years after Gen 1".

Nintendo insider, Emily Rogers, has also hinted at a link between the Pokemon GO app and Ninteno's Switch title, saying that the Nintendo would announce something related to the game before the end of the month.

The 4chan leak might seem a bit far fetched, but it seems that it was right about the Pikachu and Eevee versions. There's also mention of a peripheral for use with both Pokemon GO and the Switch game, which Rogers alluded to in her post as well, but everything is speculation at this point.

If Rogers is right, we won't have long to wait before Nintendo drops a tidbit or two about the upcoming Pokemon on Switch.
