Since the Metal Gear Survive beta kicks off today, let’s have a look at the opening mission.

The Metal Gear Survive beta is live for PLayStation 4 and Xbox One users, and the video you see below was taken from the opening mission, played on PS4.

In the gameplay footage, you’ll see the customized hero running around the base with constructed defenses, fighting off waves of Tracker zombies and a Bomber. You’ll also get a look at the weapon crafting table and a Wormhole Digger getting destroyed by enemies.

We recently went to play Metal Gear Survive, and if you like, you can check out our impressions of the co-op experience.

The beta for Metal Gear Survive runs today through January 21 and the game releases on February 20 in the US and February 22 in Europe.

Metal Gear Survive will require a constant internet connection whether you’re playing co-op or single-player. There will be an in-game store with microtransactions where players can spend Coins to buy boosts and buffs.

Coins can be earned through gameplay or purchased for real currency.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. For more information, go here.
