Kevin Durant, the NBA’s newly crowned Most Valuable Player, has been named as NBA 2K15’s cover star.

The Oklahoma City Thunder forward won his first MVP trophy today, following on from four wins in a row by LeBron James – who was last year’s NBA 2K cover athlete.

Durant was featured on the cover of NBA 2K13 along with Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose, but this is his first solo game cover.

No word yet on whether Durant will enjoy dedicated game mode as previous NBA 2K cover stars have.

NBA 2K15 is expected on PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in northern autumn.
