Phil Spencer says Xbox One could get backwards compatibility for original Xbox games

If you want to play 15 year old games, you might be in luck.

Microsoft has been working to bring backwards compatibility to the Xbox One for a number of Xbox 360 titles with Lost Odyssey being one of the most recent additions.

But it seems that they may have designs to start working on backwards compatibility for original Xbox games.

When asked on Twitter whether this is something we would ever see, Phil Spencer said that the company hadn't ruled it out and that he'd "like to find the time to do it."

Despite having a ton of my Xbox 360 games still lying around, I've yet to play any of the backwards compatible titles - including my all time favourite Left 4 Dead 2. Maybe I'm in the minority, but with so many awesome new games to play, I don't want to spend time playing something over a decade old that I've already had my fun with.

What are your thoughts? Is this something you'd be on board with? Are you still booting up 360 games on your Xbox One? Let us know in the comments.
