New Sonic the Hedgehog game slated for release next year

SEGA announced during its Sonic 25th Anniversary celebration in Tokyo a new game starring the hedgehog will be released in 2017.

Sonic Team boss Takashi Iizuka announced the news, promising the game would be revealed during the Sonic anniversary event in San Diego on July 22. The event will be streamed live through Twitch.

If you missed the celebration which took place in Japan over the weekend, you can watch it through the Sonic Movie Channel on YouTube.
