Overwatch Competitive mode pushed to mid-to-late July

During the closed beta for Overwatch, Blizzard was testing a ranked-only mode called Competitive Play.

The mod would arrange players into tiers, based on their performance in qualifying matches. This feature clearly needed work, because Blizzard decided not to include it in the launch version of the game.

Shortly before launch, however, game director Jeff Kaplan more or less confirmed the mode would make a return sometime in June. According to recent Twitter chatter, though, this isn't the case anymore.

The official Twitter account for Overwatch receives questions about Competitive Play fairly regularly, and a couple of recent answers to fan questions, confirmed that the mode's release window has been pushed.

At least now you'll have more time to pick your mains and be ready for when it goes live.
