Borderlands co-creator wants more Gortys in future titles

Warning: this post goes into some major spoilers for Tales from the Borderlands Episode 4: Escape Plan Bravo, so don't read ahead if you haven't finished it.

If you're a Borderlands fan who has played Tales from the Borderlands through to the end of the fourth episode, you'll know that there's a going to be a hole in the Borderlands cast going forward (and this is the last warning before I spoil it).

Midway through the fourth episode, the series' mechanic, Scooter, heroically sacrifices himself. Scooter is a major character in the main Borderlands titles, so it came as a bit of a shock. During a live playthrough of Tales from the Borderlands at PAX Prime, series co-creator Mikey Neumann mused on how Borderlands might proceed forth without the character. He stated that although Ellie would be the obvious choice, he'd love to see Gortys in the role, which prompted applause from the audience.

Gortys, the lovable robot at the center of Tales from the Borderlands, may yet see more adventures. Perhaps Industrial Light and Magic should be brought on-board so that he can join the cast of the upcoming Borderlands movie?
