No new DOOM info till Quakecon this month

DOOM will go big at Quakecon 2015, naturally.

DOOM had quite a showing at E3 2015, but id Software doesn't want to talk more about the shooter until Quakecon this month.

Replying to a question on Twitter, id General Manager Garrett Young declined to answer, and said the next info drop will take place at QuakeCon 2015.

The annual id Software event is set for July 23 through 26, so there's not long to wait now. I'm sure the faithful will report all the details immediately, although there's a chance that any new footage will be kept under wraps; Bethesda did a pretty good job of holding down last year's footage until E3 2015.

Which is probably as it should be; id has a special relationship with its most hardcore fans. It's disappointing to those of you who can't make the pilgrimage to Dallas, though.

Oh well! DOOM itself hits PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2016, so we'll all know everything soon enough. In the meantime, E3 2015 brought us some new footage of the Hell level as well as the first DOOM multiplayer footage.

Thanks, IGN.
