Kingdom Hearts 3 could feature Marvel and Star Wars characters

Star Wars and Marvel aren't off the table for Kingdom Hearts 3, thanks to Disney and Square Enix's collaboration.

In the years since Kingdom Hearts 2, Disney acquired Marvel and Star Wars, and the two universes have made their way into the House of Mouse's family, appearing in Disney Infinity as well as the parks and other products.

So yes: they could also turn up in the next Kingdom Hearts game.

"I can’t go into specifics, but there’s a lot of new Disney stuff and we have our plates full," game designer Tai Yasue told Kotaku.

“Theres a lot to consider - we’re looking at all of Disney, the new ones as well, they have a lot of pull and draw."

"Well, yeah. They’re all under consideration. Nothing’s off-limits, we’re considering all of the worlds," he said.

"There are so many wonderful concepts. We’re happy about that, but at the same time it’s really tough to choose."

A new Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer was shown at a recent fan event, but is yet to make its way online for broader consumption. We're hoping for an official update from Square Enix soon.
