Destiny Xbox One now runs at 1080p / 30FPS thanks to new SDK

Wednesday, 11th June 2014 10:59 GMT By Dave Cook

Destiny Xbox One will run at 1080p and 30 frames per second, following the release of Microsoft’s June SDK, which lets developers tap into the 10% GPU power previously reserved for Kinect functionality.

GameTrailers’ Geoff Keighly confirmed the numbers on Twitter after he interviewed Microsoft’s Phil Spencer:

I echoes Spencer’s discussion on the matter earlier in the week, who said, “Even our friends at Bungie, and I’ve been spending a lot of time down there, they’re going to pick up the June SDK update for Destiny, and they’re going to up the resolution of Destiny based on this change. So I think it’s just a great time for us.”

Destiny is out September 9 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

@pukem0n I feel sad for the people who claimed frame rate and resolution doesn’t matter.

I’d sooner see the frame rate boosted, but nice either way.

Good news, i hope they keep improving, in order to get the first person shotters on the one, for the suited controller.
